eBay UK business seller fees: what to check first
The fee checks business sellers should make before assuming an eBay listing is profitable.

Category matters
eBay final value fees are not identical across every product. A good calculator should show which category scenario it is using.
If your product sits outside the modelled category, use the result as a warning light, not a final fee quote.
Per-order fees matter on low prices
Fixed order fees hit low-priced products harder. A small fixed fee on a £7 order can hurt more than sellers expect.
When pricing low-ticket items, check the percentage and fixed fee together.
Promotions are a separate decision
Promoted listings can be useful, but they should be modelled as a cost of acquiring the sale.
If the listing only works when promoted spend is ignored, the real margin is not ready.
