Etsy UK fees explained for product pricing
A practical walkthrough of Etsy transaction, payment, listing and regulatory fees for UK sellers.

Etsy fees are layered
Etsy is not one fee. A realistic UK pricing model usually needs transaction fees, payment processing, listing fee allocation and any regulatory operating fee that applies.
That does not mean Etsy is bad for margin. It means a seller should price from the full cost stack rather than from the transaction fee alone.
Listing fees need a sensible allocation
The listing fee is small, but small costs matter when products are low-priced. If a listing normally sells once, include the full listing fee. If it renews or sells multiple quantities, allocation can be more nuanced.
For early planning, using a conservative per-order allocation is usually safer than ignoring the fee.
Ads change the answer fast
Etsy Ads and Offsite Ads can move a product from profitable to thin very quickly. Treat ad spend as a per-order cost when you know it, or run a separate scenario with ads included.
A strong Etsy product should still make sense before you rely on advertising to rescue the listing.
