How to set a wholesale price without regret

A simple way to decide whether a wholesale offer leaves enough room for cost, fulfilment and future retail sales.

Wholesale is a different sale

Wholesale usually trades margin for volume. That can be sensible, but only when the reduced price still covers production, packing, admin and fulfilment.

Do not judge wholesale by retail margin standards, but do not accept a price that leaves no room either.

Account for order handling

Wholesale can reduce per-unit shipping and acquisition cost, but it can add admin, invoicing and packing requirements.

Large orders deserve their own cost check instead of being treated like a normal marketplace sale.

Protect retail positioning

A wholesale price can affect future retail strategy. If the buyer discounts heavily, your own retail price may feel harder to defend.

Use wholesale when volume, cash flow or distribution value is real, not because the order feels flattering.
